Abstract :
This paper studies the time performance of CNC system based on field bus. Taking the CAN bus as an example, the time characteristics of the communication was analyzed in detail and the feasibility of synchronization of field bus for CNC control system was verified according to the results of the experiments. Meanwhile, the determining rule of the synchronization cycle was proposed and testified. The distributed control system using synchronization based on field bus was applied on the wire-cut EDM machine tool. Now it works well on our experimenting ones.
