Abstract :
In this paper we present an exposure assessment for a low profile distributed antenna fitted within an archway for a walk-through counter surveillance application. A numerical electromagnetic model, based on the method-of-moments, is used to develop a simple distributed structure antenna with optimum return loss factor in the frequency band of interest. An exposure assessment is then made using the FDTD method to determine the full-body and local specific absorption rate. The results are validated indirectly using measurements on representative systems.
