Abstract
This paper explains the design and implementation of RDNSS using the RA message. The need for DNS is increasing with IPv6 addresses because users will have more difficulty remembering longer IPv6 addresses compared to IPv4 addresses. DNS provides an address resolution service based on domain names. RA is part of IPv6´s mature neighbor discovery mechanism. Hence, the use of RDNSS addresses as an extension to the RA message provides a useful mechanism
