Abstract
This paper deals with the “optimal” PWM (pulse-width modulation) inverter control of a synchronous motor. Digital current control of a synchronous motor in the (α-β) representation is considered in order to take into account the rotating field during the sampling time. In this paper, one takes into account the PWM inverter in the current control scheme, using the two-time scale separation properties of the system. A digital control scheme allowing to increase the PWM sampling period and giving a satisfactory behaviour of the fast variables during the intersampling is proposed. Some simulations illustrate the efficiency of the proposed control
