  • Abstract
In conclusion, we report results of Z-scan experiments with InP microcrystals deposited in Vycor. The data indicates that the quantum confinement provided by the microcrystals produces a significant nonlinear refractive index. It is also shown that, for a short pulse duration (100 psec), nonlinear absorption is negligible at 1064nm. Further, the temporal characteristics of the optical nonlinearities have also been investigated
