    A long stroke precise actuator driven by piezoelectric stack which acts in together with ER fluid valve is presented in this paper. The actuator is characterized by high-speed, long stroke, low power consumption, etc. The prototype of the actuator is fabricated by precise manufacturing. Simulations and experiments showed that the piezoelectric actuator has high efficiency and good performance. With a voltage less than 100 V, the precise actuator can move 0.2 mm per second and its power consumption is only 27 mW. A robust active high frequency ER valve is developed for the piezoelectric actuator. A high voltage power is used to increase the valve´s responsiveness with frequency up to 500 Hz. A symmetrical two valves and PZT stack pump increases actuator´s resolution.
