Abstract :
A novel dual-band printed monopole antenna for wireless local area network (WLAN) and worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) applications is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of a ring-shaped radiation patch and an ∩-shaped strip to achieve a dual-wideband performance. The antenna has a simple structure and occupies a small size of 30×42 mm2. The measured -10 dB bandwidths for S11 are 0.43 GHz from 2.32 to 2.75 GHz and 2.91 GHz from 3.29 to 6.20 GHz, covering all the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN and 2.5/3.5/5.5 GHz WiMAX bands. Also, near omni-directional radiation characteristics are obtained in desired frequency range.
