Abstract
Linear oscillating motor attracts much attention in short-stroke reciprocate motion applications, due to direct and efficient linear movement output. However, the requirement of high output power in linear motor always leads to rapid increase of outer diameter, which is not only bulky in structure but also decreases power density. In order to achieve efficient high power linear motor design, E-Type series linear oscillating motor concept is proposed. This paper mainly deals with electromagnetic modeling for this design. Analytical model of flux and thrust based on magnetic vector potential method is set up first. Then, FEM results are utilized for validation. Finally, magnetic field and thrust experiments are conducted, which proves the validity of analytical model. Therefore, this proposed model can be used as a general guidance to structure design and optimization.
