Abstract :
In this paper the time delay toolbox-a new tool for computer aided control engineering-is presented. The tool is a collection of MATLAB m-files supporting analysis and synthesis of control systems involving time-delays. The modelling strategy was to give exact representations, in both the time and operator domains. Systems which can be represented in the toolbox include linear retarded and neutral systems with finitely many, possibly incommensurate, discrete delays. The basic data representation concepts include delay polynomials, delay matrices, delay transfer functions and delay multivariable systems. The paper gives an overview of current toolbox capabilities and a discussion of some implementation issues, followed by an extensive example based on a transonic wind tunnel
