Abstract :
Computer simulations have been used to study the effects of a number of factors on the traffic capacity of TDMA In-Building Wireless Systems. These factors include wall attenuation, transmitter power control, and the acceptable level of Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR) to establish a new call and to maintain the call. High wall attenuation, characteristic of very high frequency operation (above 20 GHz), is included in the studies. Simulation results indicate that certain systems with portable transmitter power control and low call setup SIR threshold in buildings with high wall attenuation can reach the theoretical traffic capacity level
