Abstract :
A novel design of dual-linearly-polarized antenna for Ku-band satellite communication system is presented in this paper. This antenna consists of a patch, a circle-ring slot, and a cross slot on the upper layer of substrate. The circle patch is aperture-coupled by two microstrip lines to generate dual orthogonal linearly-polarized waves. The effect of feed network on the reflection coefficient is investigated. And the antenna radiation patterns fed by different ports are compared. A Ku-band dual-linearly-polarized antenna is fabricated and measured. And simulated results are compared with measured data.
