Abstract :
In this paper, performance enhancement technique using direct communication of a cellular system is analyzed. In this scheme, communication between two Mobile station (MS) within a cell is guaranteed by direct communication when base station (BS) of that cell is busy. Direct communication between two MS is established via base station and after that base station only monitors that connection using monitoring signal. The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze performance of the system considering with and without using direct communication. We evaluate the call blocking probability (CBP) and total throughputs of the cell for various offered load. To confirm the validity of the analysis, the results of simulation are also shown.
