Abstract :
The routing protocol is able to improve the performance of the network as compared to the traditional 3G and WiFi offload. On this study, the concept Genetic Zone Routing Protocol (GZRP) will be combined with the VHO algortihm used at the multiple base stations in 3G-WiFi offload network. Based on the results of this simulation the proposed algorithm can improve troughput and reduce handover delay. In terms of handover time, there is a significant improvement when the combined algorithm is employed as compared to the VHO algorithm alone, which shows a decrease of 2.757 seconds for the average handover time from 3G to WiFi and 3.824 seconds for the average handover time from WiFi to 3G.
