Abstract
The wireless charging subject has drawn substantial attention in recent years due to the development in mobile devices. In general, wireless charging refers to contact-less powering, which involves with inductive coupling or nearfield radiation. In this work, we focus on wireless charging implementation via far-field radiation. However, because the power density of a propagating wave is inversely proportional to the square of traveling distance, in the farfield range, only devices with low or medium power rating can be operated by wireless charging. In this work, we attempt to develop a novel beam scanning array antenna that rotates its beam using a relatively simple control circuit. Such an array antenna provides high gain and a large coverage, which are applicable in farfield wireless charging.
