We survey signal processing algorithms that are being and will be applied to wireless communications systems, with particular reference to developments reported in VTC ´96 signal processing sessions. Major trends are reviewed, in particular low bit rate speech compression, adaptive equalization, antenna processing, interference suppression techniques, and implementation approaches
