Abstract
Modern industrial applications trends require high-density packaging of variable frequency drives in low voltage switchgear and control gear (the global term for today´s modern motor control center and drive systems or MCC). Packaging in an MCC permits improved network communication capabilities, reduces total installed cost, improves process uptime and provides increased safety. Discussed is a comparison of the design and installation advantages and disadvantages of this packaging method.
