  • Abstract
    The usefulness, differences and limitations of conventional and micro-genetic algorithms, both applied to near field antenna characterization, are presented and discussed in this work. The comparison takes as reference a method based on a set of elemental dipoles used to model the antenna under test, and different genetic algorithms (GAs) based techniques are used. Aspects concerning convergence, computational cost and resulting patterns are considered.
