Abstract :
Recently designed control equipment and conventional induction motors both require tighter tolerance levels on voltage, voltage balance and harmonic pollution level than is currently available on traditional distribution systems. There are new devices that can be used that allow tighter tolerances. A review of the current methods of achieving regulated, balanced voltage on 600 V distribution systems is provided. New configurations of conventional transformer connections, combined with low current control and regulation, offer simple, highly efficient and cost effective solutions for voltage optimization.
