Abstract :
In this paper, we present the first experimental observation of a second-order scattering process in which the two incident photons are at different frequencies and sum-frequency radiation is detected. We show that, analogous to HRS, this parametric light-scattering (PLS) process can be used to determine the first hyperpolarizability of organic molecules in solution
