Abstract :
This paper describes an implementation of a positioning sound synthesis algorithm on an ARM 926 EJ-S based mobile device. To achieve a minimal complexity, sound sources are synthesized with a corresponding pair of approximated minimum phase filter and inter-aural time delay (ITD). The resulting complexity is measured as 13.48 million-instruction per second (MIPS). The quality of positioned sources is verified with the MOS test. Eventually, the system proposed has ample capability to reproduce a positioning sound source along with three-dimensional graphic displays, i.e. games, user-interface
