Abstract :
A rigorous analysis of waveguides using step approximations and the Ritz-Galerkin method is presented. The waveguide cross section is subdivided to a number of rectangular parts. The matching of fields in partial regions has been accomplished using the Ritz-Galerkin method. As test cases, the solution of rectangular waveguides with curved corners, circular, and circular ridge waveguides is presented.
