Abstract :
This paper proposes an adaptive modulation packet radio communication system using nonpersistent carrier sense multiple access/time division duplex (NP-CSMA/TDD) scheme. This system controls the modulation parameters such as symbol rate, modulation level and packet length according to the channel conditions to improve the throughput and the average delay performances in heavy traffic conditions. Computer simulation confirms that the proposed system can achieve higher throughput and shorter average delay performances
