Abstract :
This paper describes the main components of a low cost Ka/Ka feed for user terminals in a DVB-RCS system. A component by component design approach is presented and explained, and the first complete feed prototype is shown. The measurements are compared with simulations and very good agreement is obtained. All feed requirements are satisfied by the realized feed without adjustment. Moreover, this feed could be entirely moulded, thereby achieving a low cost feed solution in the Ka/Ka band.
