Abstract
The Remote sensing data from satellite is transmitted to the earth station in serial and in continuous form, frame after frame. Unless the frame beginning is marked, it is not possible to distinguish the frames separately. Hence, it is necessary that every frame should begin with the preamble pattern. In On-line Bit Error Rate (BER) measurement, this preamble pattern which occurs once in the frame, is accumulated to the required number of bits and counts the errors to indicate the BER. If the pattern is continuous, then the BER is derived on-line. Thus, the occurrence of errors in the Satellite digital channel is being measured and the BER is displayed on-line in the presence of the data. This paper discusses about the Design and Validation of On-line BER measurement of Satellite communication channel link of IRS series satellites.
