Abstract
The development of personal communications systems (PCS) is a source of investigation in several fields. The aim is to guarantee a good quality connection service between users, independently from the surrounding environment and from the fact that they are fixed or mobile. Broadband measurements of indoor radio propagation channel have been performed in the office part of a factory in the band 1.7-2.2 GHz. The choice of frequency span depends on the fact that several mobile/cordless telephone systems, as in particular DECT, have their operating band in it. The adopted measurement technique is the frequency domain technique proposed by Howard and Pahlavan (1990), using a network analyzer. Indications about the possible statistical behaviour of the delay spread and of the path loss at the DECT central frequency (1.89 GHz) are presented, based on collected profiles
