A Chinese Paper Cut-out System Based on Decorative Pattern Recognition

Paper cut-out is a traditional folk art with long history in China. This paper proposes an efficient method to recognize the decorative pattern adaptively from the Paper cut-out image and plan to build a paper cut-out system based on recognized decorative pattern. For the paper cut-out image is acquired by scanning books, we propose a method to recognize the decorative pattern and attain the goal of converting image into graphic. Theoretical analysis and experimental results have proved that the proposed method is feasible and effective.
