Abstract
This paper illustrates the nonlinear design and realization of MESFET nonlinear model based Power Amplifier to deliver minimum 12 watt output power with 37% efficiency at operating Vds of 9 V. Critical design requirement of the solid state power amplifier has necessitated the nonlinear model based design. Paper covers all aspects related to nonlinear design of a power amplifier viz. description of nonlinear model, nonlinear design using load-pull technique, harmonic balance simulation and optimization followed by comparison of simulated and measured performance of the amplifier.
