Abstract :
Butyl rubber-SrTiO3 flexible composites were prepared through sigma mixing followed by hot pressing. The dielectric properties were studied at different frequencies. Theoretical models were used to predict the effective relative permittivity of the composites and the results were correlated with the experimental data. The relative permittivity of the composite was observed to increase with the volume fraction of the filler, while the dielectric loss remained practically unaffected. For 0.42 volume fraction of SrTiO3, the composite showed a relative permittivity of 13.2 and dielectric loss (tan ??) of 0.0028 at 4.73 GHz.
