Abstract :
A compact coplanar wave guide-fed monopole slot antenna is presented for ultra wide band applications. The antenna consists of exciting tree shaped stub. The antenna has compact aperture area of 22 ?? 13 mm2. It provides an impedance band width of 228% for S11 < -10 db with respect to lowest resonant frequency of 3.42 GHz. It provides constant gain, stable radiation pattern over operating frequency range from 3.0 to 10.8 GHz. The fundamental parameters return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern are obtained, which meet standard specifications. A method of moments based IE3D simulator is used to analyze the antenna. Simulated results show that optimized lengths of antenna provide three resonant frequencies and increases band width for the proposed antenna.
