Web Service Discovery Based on Semantic Matchmaking with UDDI

As a promising web application paradigm, web services have been widely adopted as e-business solutions. However, UDDI, the discovery mechanism of Web services, has the limitation of lack of semantic inference support, and the search mechanism based on keyword and categorization information leads to a limited performance. The problem can be addressed by a semantic approach for service matching based on semantic similarity of service properties. To integrate the matching mechanism into UDDI, we propose a semantic matchmaker system. We present the architecture of the system and demonstrate the key processes of the matchmaker for service publishing and discovery.
