Abstract :
Rich-media describe a broad range of digital interactive multimedia that is increasingly used in the Internet and also for the support of education, where the complex rich-media visualization of the educational process becomes the necessity for the overall transfer of information from teacher to students. MERLINGO project (MEdia-rich Repository of LearnING Objects) is aimed at the building of the central repository of multimedia learning objects containing teachers´ presentations accessible within the national academic computer network CESNET2. Analysis of current trends in recording, publication, adaptation and management based on rich-media technologies has resulted in the development of the new revolutionary programming products EduArt and MediaInTouch. They were implemented by MERLINGO team of investigators in cooperation with PolyMedia Technologies firm. These products are determined for realization of recordings and their publishing, adaptation and management on-line or on-demand. EduArt programming system can be operated at mobile device and it surpasses significantly similar commercial solutions mainly in terms of its mobility, simple operation and no requirements for a specialized and costly hardware. During this implementation, the emphasis will be mainly placed on closely specified areas stemming mainly from the needs of academic and other highly needed communities.
