  • Abstract
A computer-aided design methodology for flexible manufacturing system control with a view to industrial implementation is presented. In the modeling phase, based on the Petri net formalism, generic aspects which allow the use of an object-oriented approach are discussed. The CASPAIM II (Conception Assistee de Systemes de Production Automatises en Industrie Manufacturiere) project methodology employs a product approach and integrates the planning, the scheduling, and the treatment of failures
