Abstract :
The deregulated market increases the need for communication between the control centre and the substations. New systems (outage management, fault location, maintenance etc.) also need on-line information from the network about actual loading, equipment status, faults etc. There is therefore a need for automation in MV-substations with conventional relay equipment. A typical station of this type is shown. Because of the large number of this type of station, a low budget solution is requested
