Abstract :
A family of central station antennas for a point-to-multipoint system with 90/spl deg/ sector coverage have been implemented in waveguide technology. The family comprises 6 different antennas for the 26, 28 and 30 GHz bands, with both vertical and horizontal polarization. The very compact design of the antenna facilitates the integration with the radio unit. The antennas have high gain, 21-22 dBi, low cross-polarization, <-27dB, and excellent side-lobe performance. With this design, the antenna radiation patterns can easily be optimized to meet different requirements. A variety of elevation beam shapes and azimuth sector beamwidths can be obtained.
