  • Abstract
This paper proposes a propagation channel model based on digital signal processing, using multirate systems theory and elaborated from a statistical analysis of the wideband parameters of the measured propagation channel under the “WSSUS” hypothesis. This model is intended for evaluating the bit error rate of UMTS systems with frequency hopping in software simulations and reproduces the frequency selectivity and the time variability of the channel in several typical indoor propagation scenarios. The indoor wideband measurements used have been investigated at 2.2 GHz with a frequency bandwidth set to 50 MHz in the RACE project
