Abstract :
A subjective analysis of the sound quality enhancement obtained by a frequency-domain multipoint equalization algorithm, suitable for magnitude equalization, is here presented. The algorithm used for the equalization can be divided in two phases. In the first step, the filter prototype which represents the behavior of the entire environment, is derived in the frequency domain from a set of impulse responses measured in different positions. Then the equalizer transfer function is calculated using a suitable technique in a warped domain. Taking into consideration a real environment, a subjective listening test session has been performed according to ITU recommendations BS.1284-1.
