Abstract :
This paper studies an estimation method to identify finger signs only by measuring surface EMG signals of a forearm. Fundamental investigations were done to clarify the relationship between finger gesture and the forearm EMG. The estimation strategy was proposed after the criterion for discriminating activity of muscles is determined. Experiments were finally carried out to show the successful identification of finger signs in real time.
