  • Abstract
The information system usually implies the use of the entity-relationship formalism at conception level and database for the implementation aspect. But the information is not only located in the database but also in the communication system. During the information system design, the conceptual stage is not changed. At the logical step which describes the data organization, both database and communication aspects are taken into account. The logical analysis must generate the database structures and the manufacturing message specifications (MMS) configuration of all equipment which corresponds to the physical stage. Some concrete rules which permit translation of the entity relationship formalism to MMS objects and MERISE communication model to organize each VMD are presented
