Abstract :
This paper proposes an interactive freeform design modeling system, named FreeSculptor, which comprises 2D (two-dimensional) constraint-based sketching, advanced 3D (three-dimensional) modeling and haptic force-feedback devices. FreeSculptor adopts energy-based deformable modeling, which allows users to sculpt 3D virtual objects interactively. We investigate interaction metaphors for promoting creativity during the design phase.
