Abstract :
Terracotta warrior and horses of the Qin dynasty is an outstanding representative work in Chinese ancient arts and cultures. It is urgent to protect this world culture heritage by an easy, reliable and advanced technique. Digitalization is an integrated technique of advanced digitized and information processing with archaeological and culture relics. It can realize the reappearance, protection and replication of the culture relics, especially the digital reappearance and rebuilding a 3D digital museum of the archaeological settings. For the special case of terracotta warriors, we made a 3D model of a sole shooting squat terracotta warrior by using 3D digitized processing techniques. This paper specifically describes the 3D digitized acquisition and processing techniques, analyses the 3D digitalization, 3D modeling, the key problems encountered in texture mapping, and confirms the reliability and feasibility of the modeling by texture mapping.
