Abstract :
Partial results are presented of a research project, geared toward developing an automated assembly system design proposal. The assembly system is intended for production of small copiers and similar products composed primarily of plastic parts small motors, and externally supplied electronic and mechanical components. The candidate systems designed are developed and simulation analysis is used to verify and fine-tune the operational capabilities of each. This analysis enabled the design and testing of mechanisms for operationalization of a just-in-time inventory strategy with minimal disruption
