Abstract :
A square suspended plate antenna with enhanced radiation performances is experimentally presented. The proposed antenna is fed by a feeding strip and grounded by a narrow shorting strip at its two radiating edges. The investigations into the radiation characteristics of the suspended plate antennas are carried out experimentally. The results show an improvement on the radiation performances of the proposed antenna over a 6 % bandwidth with VSWR<2:1.
