Abstract :
Since the exact model of switching circuits can be achieved by a recently described CAD tool, the possibility of automatic identification of the system small-signal model opens up. The connections of the circuits constituting a time-variant or time-invariant system have to be described by matricial relationships in the state space. The overall matrices relevant to the condition of all the feedback loops open can be obtained by processing the dynamic natural responses obtained through simulated transient analyses of the circuits. Hence transfer functions are expressed in the Z-transform and loci of poles and zeros can be drawn, giving the designer a base for effective feedback optimization. Compensation networks which close the external loops can be considered as additional subsystems duly connected to the others, and the characterization of the system with the regulation loops closed is made possible
