Abstract :
The booming Internet with extensive applications of e-trade in a distributed environment has necessitated the careful monitoring and analysis of network information. This paper proposes a multi-agent system EDI-MA (electronic data interchange-multi-agent) embedded in each client to monitor and analyze the XML/EDI format data. The paper introduces the architecture of EDI-MA and describes the organizational structures and functions of single agent in detail. This includes the data exchanging agent (DA), the interacting and coordinating agent (CA), and the computing and analyzing agent (TA). Communicating through four kinds of primitive message language, these agents monitor and analyze cooperatively XML/EDI format data based on the request-response cooperation mechanism with the CA´s managing. EDI-MA is installed and run in EDI clients automatically and can be configured to achieve different functions. In addition, an application example in mobile phone online ordering is given to show how the system should perform. This technology can be widely used in the monitoring of electronic tax document and electronic checks on network.
