Abstract :
In this paper a highly flexible platform for biomedical data acquisition and processing is presented. The modular design of its hardware enables it to cover a wide range of applications: from a single-lead electrocardiography (ECG) heart-beat monitor, to a sleep laboratory setup including multi-channel electroencephalography (EEG), electro-oculography (EOG), pulse oximetry, sleep position monitoring and more. The system includes a smart phone software application used to wirelessly control the battery powered instrument and to display acquired signals and computed measurands. The utilisation of first prototypes in medical research facilitates the validation of the concept and circuits.
