Abstract :
Successful management of Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) aims to keep blood glucose levels within a tight target range by the injection of insulin. The optimal amount of insulin depends on numerous patient specific parameters and people with diabetes struggle to keep glucose levels within target range. Current bolus calculators do not incorporate many of these individual parameters and thus remain suboptimal in their performance. In this demonstration we show an intelligent insulin bolus advisory system for personalised insulin recommendations that outperforms state of the art bolus calculators and improves glycemic control of people with T1DM.
