Abstract
The dielectric behavior of insulators can be explained using the space charge physics developed by G. Blaise et al. With this model, based on the concept of polarons, “defects” associated with local variation of polarisability are responsible for trapping charges. This paper investigates, the effects of chromium in sapphire single-crystal and of zirconium implantation in sintered alumina on the dielectric and tribological properties
