Abstract :
This paper presents a new mathematical model and solution technique for horizontal wells in two-zone linear composite infinite reservoirs which are assumed to be isotropic in each one of the two zones. The model is solved by using Fourier and Laplace transformation. Based on Duhamel principle, wellbore storage and skin effects can easily be incorporated. Pressure respond curves are plotted with Stehfest algorithm. Different flow regimes in pressure respond curves are identified. The model presented in this study provides a theoretical basis for understanding and predicting the performances of horizontal wells in two-zone linear composite infinite reservoirs.
