Abstract
We propose two distributed hand-off schemes and analyse their performances for future personal communication systems (PCS). The probability of a packet being lost due to a hand-off and that the mean number of packets lost in a hand-off are reduced by more than one to two orders of magnitude depending on the load and the dwell time of the mobile terminal (MT) compared with other distributed hand-off schemes
