Abstract
This paper describes a full procedure to model magnetic components based on finite element analysis (FEA) techniques and practical aspects of the FEA tool are also considered. The model used is frequency dependent and of distributed effects. This model is particularly useful for magnetic components working with nonsinusoidal wave-forms (it can adequately take into account the harmonics) and when the currents do not flow at the same time in the windings (it can take into account separately the winding impedances). This paper is an overview of a set of papers previously published
